the state government has announced common exam calender for all state government schools. In a circular issued on Monday, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board (GSHSEB) announced that the exams will begin from 15 March 2021 for classes 3-8.

The circular stated: The idea is to do away with rote learning and introduce an understanding of subjects among students. The curriculum of students should provide them with knowledge, skills and understanding which is why the state government has decided to conduct first term exams at the same time. The question paper will be provided by district education offices to all schools.

Questions will be asked based on the blueprint prepared by Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training.
Students of class 3-5 will have to answer questions on the question paper itself whereas students of class 6-8 will have to write answers in answer sheets. Any holiday given during the exam schedule by the district will stand cancelled. Post the examination, the answer-sheets should reach the collection centre within two days. Results of these exams will have an online entry. Printing of question papers will happen at the district level.
